Welcome Message

This blog is just a place for me to conveniently share my thoughts on issues relating to the interplay of sexuality and faith. I do not necessarily plan to post items here with any specific regularity, but hopefully whatever I do end up writing will provoke thought and challenge people to push toward a more Christlike approach to these issues.

Peter LaBarbera Corrects Jesus of Nazareth and His "Disciples" on their "Celebration of Ambiguity" on Christ's Divinity

By Peter LaBarbera*

Folks,

As you know, we here at JFTAM (Jews For Truth About the Messiah) have been at the receiving end of some vicious, ugly remarks from Jesus of Nazareth, calling us such hateful names as "serpents," "whitewashed tombs," and "sons of hell." But this is par for the course when dealing with a well-funded, well-organized rabbi bent on tearing down those of us who have dedicated our lives to upholding the Truth of the Torah.

And this self-righteous vitriol comes from someone who recently defended a wicked whore (she was caught in the very act of her whoredom!--check back tomorrow, we will post pictures of the heinous act!), refusing to allow the clearly-required stoning penalty to be exacted upon the whore. Thousands of years of temple history, our oral traditions, and good ol' common sense tell us that this woman, rather than being shown some newfangled wishy-washy compassion and mercy, should have been killed on the spot in righteous judgment. After all, what happens if we let one whore receive mercy for her sin? Once the camel has its nose in the tent, on what basis can we truly exclude any repentant sinner from the circle of God's elect? What's next? Dinner with tax collectors? Healing on the Sabbath?

I do not believe--or at least I hope--that the equivocating Jesus, who seems ashamed of the Law of Moses (at least as applied to judgment), represents the Nazarene synagogue's approach to these issues. Nazareth has faithfully served Yahweh for decades. Needless to say, Jews like Jesus who equivocate on Scriptural truth will be championed by the same so-called "disciples" who viciously (and erroneously) denounce JFTAM and groups like us as "broods of vipers." (By the way, we will be examining these "disciples" in greater detail in the near future. Several readers have reported to us that the "disciples" are actually known to recruit children to follow the teachings of Jesus! Sure, they would like us to think they are merely common "fishermen", but the reality is something much more sinister! Multiple accounts relate Jesus actually encouraging children to follow Him! Parents, we encourage you to check with your local rabbis and synagogues and to be sure you protect your children from these activist "men fishers"!)

Perhaps nowhere is the tendency to water down the Truth more clearly seen than in Jesus' evasive and equivocating---and unscriptural--positioning on the issue of His own divinity.

Certainly, we praise Jesus for wanting to reach out to infidels and for stories we have heard of Jesus' healing and forgiving those who had supposedly been "bullied" by the Pharisees (no doubt many of these so-called "bullying" incidents are nothing more than a canard by these militant extremist radicals--um, no sorry, I mean these extremely-radical militants--or was that radical militant extremists? ...er, anyway--trying to gain sympathy in order to ultimately force acceptance of their deviant "lifestyles" upon true and loyal Jews).

But Jesus does not help anyone when he performs verbal gymnastics in order to avoid answering questions about whether or not He is the Messiah. For example, earlier today, Jesus was taken before the Roman Pontius Pilate, who asked Him directly, "Are you the king of the Jews?" Jesus, though, rather than stating the clear Truth that He was indeed the One foretold by the prophets and sent from God to earth, completely avoided answering the question altogether! Instead, He replied, "Is that your own idea? Or did others talk to you about me?"

How does Jesus think He is helping anyone when He makes the clear unclear... the unambiguous ambiguous? How is that love? Doesn't Jesus understand the undeniable fact that, if you are aware of something that is True, it is your responsibility to say that Truth directly, loudly, repeatedly, and with bold italic typeface, with no concern of appropriateness, timing, or any larger purpose? Anything less than this is self-serving compromise! Even Pilate seemed confused, asking "What is truth?" and again receiving no answer from Jesus.

Sadly, this seems to be a pattern in Jesus' life. In fact, it seems He can hardly ever answer a question asked of Him directly at all! When His own cousin, John the Baptist, sent someone to ask Christ if He was the Messiah, Jesus couldn't even find the courage to answer his own cousin directly! Instead, by the account of the former tax collector (now "disciple") Matthew (a.k.a. Levi), Jesus vaguely pointed to the miracles and preaching He had done. And then when the chief priests and elders gave Him a beautiful opportunity for speaking the Truth when they asked Him where He got the authority for the things He did, Jesus flat-out refused to answer them! Why is Jesus ashamed of His own divinity? I know it is not politically correct to ask these questions, but they must be asked!

DISCLAIMER: I have not actually read any of these so-called "Gospels" myself, nor have I ever heard Jesus' sermons before the multitudes. I also have never met Him in person myself nor spoken to any of His "disciples" one-on-one. But I was so disturbed and bothered by His comments that honestly, how could you fairly expect me to spend time actually gathering facts before I publicly denounce Him? I trust you understand my position here.

There is a great need to lovingly offer healing and food to the multitudes throughout Israel, but one should never resort to publicly obfuscating or denying Scriptural Truth to carry out that mission. Please pray for Jesus of Nazareth – that He will return to the Truth on this issue, including the parts that are politically incorrect. – Peter LaBarbera, Jews For Truth

*Note: This is a work of satire. It was written in the style of Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, in response to a post on his website on September 24, 2009, where he publicly, ungraciously, and unbliblically slandered one of the most humble, loving, and committed Christians I've ever encountered, but this satire was not actually written by LaBarbera himself.

"Peter LaBarbera is a Fool" says the Bible

The Bible:
He who gives an answer before he hears,
It is folly and shame to him.

--Proverbs 18:13 (NASB)

Peter LaBarbera, September 24, 2009:

  • "The equivocating Andrew Marin...seems ashamed of the Gospel of Christ (at least as applied to homosexuality)"....

  • "Marin...now seems intent on muddying up the Bible’s clear truth: that homosexual practice is sinful yet changeable through Christ"....

  • "Please pray for Andrew Marin – that he will return to the truth on this issue"....

  • "DISCLAIMER: I have not read Marin’s book yet"....

  • "To be honest, I was so disturbed by Marin’s actions that I could not bring myself to listen to his XGW interview"
